Spain-based wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has secured the first order for its new G126-2.625 MW turbine from Thailand-based developer Gunkul Engineering Public Company Limited. The turbine with a nominal capacity of 2.625 MW delivers maximum output in low wind speed conditions. The order includes the supply of 20 units of these turbines at the Mittraphap wind farm located in the province of Nakhon Ratchasima, in southern Thailand. The PowerChina Zhongnan Engineering Corporation will carry out the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) activities for this project. The turbines are likely to be delivered during the third quarter of 2017 and the project is expected to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2018. Gamesa will offer O&M services for a period of 10 years.
