SECI’s 1 GW wind tender oversubscribed

SECI’s 1 GW tender inviting bids for wind power projects has been oversubscribed, with 13 developers submitting bids equivalent to 2.6 GW of capacity. Around 69 per cent (1,794 MW) of the bids are for Tamil Nadu, 27 per cent (700 MW) for Gujarat and the remaining (100 MW) for Karnataka. Companies that have bid for setting up 250 MW of projects each in Tamil Nadu include Inox Wind, Mytrah, Sembcorp and Leap Green. Meanhwile, Gamesa, Adani and Hero Future Energies have bid for setting up capacity of 150 MW each in the state. The current feed-in tariff in Tamil Nadu is Rs 4.16 per unit and in Gujarat it is Rs 4.15 per unit.
