Nordex wins two turkey projects

Germany-based wind turbine manufacturer Nordex has received its first order in Turkey from Bakir Enerji and Marmarares Elektrik for the Esenköy and Kürekdagi wind farm projects. The former is located in the Marmara region, northwest of Turkey, where Nordex will be installing nine units of N117/3600 turbines on 106 metre tubular steel towers. For the latter, located in the same region, Nordex will be supplying 10 units of N117/3600 wind turbines, which will also be installed on 106 metre towers. The construction of the two wind farms is due to start by end-August 2017. Nordex will service all 19 turbines based on a premium service agreement for a period of five years. In the US, the company received two orders worth Euro62 million for production tax credit qualifying components. The contracts were awarded by a leading US-based independent power producer and a European utility. The projects are likely to be executed from 2018 onwards. In Argentina, Nordex received two contracts for the construction of wind farms aggregating 148 MW of capacity. The contracts entail the installation of 32 and 15 units of AW 125/3000 turbines to be installed for the La Castellana and Achiras projects respectively. The construction is likely to be completed by February 2018.
