VGF benefit likely to be extended to wind power segment

The government is likely to announce a viability gap funding (VGF) mechanism to help power distribution companies procure wind power. This comes after the government announced a reduction in the AD benefit for wind power developers from 80 per cent to 40 per cent with effect from April 2017.The generation-based incentives available to wind power developers are also due to end soon.
