The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has decided to continue with the existing renewable purchase obligation (RPO) targets for 2016-17, that is, 8 per cent non-solar RPO and 1.5 per cent solar RPO. Further, it has held that any revision in RPO targets for the subsequent financial year will be carried following the finalisation of the draft amendment to the Renewable Energy Regulations, 2013 in accordance with the prevailing law, after taking cognisance of the development and availability of power from renewable energy sources to Uttarakhand.
