The Rajasthan Electricity Regulatory Commission (RERC) has exempted the electricity duty of Re 0.40 per unit for solar rooftop and captive power units coming up in the state. The state government has already announced its net-metering policy. Net metering along with the additional benefit of exemption of electricity duty will drive growth in the segment. Recently, RERC also issued a rate contract order for 25 MW and 5 MW rooftop plants and empanelled companies to design supply and install these projects.
