Powergrid estimates an investment of Rs 127 billion for 34 solar parks in new report

Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (powergrid) has released a new report that states the investment requirement for developing transmission facilities for the upcoming solar parks in the country. As per the report, Green Energy Corridor II, Part A will be exclusively dedicated to evacuate power from 34 solar parks with a cumulative capacity of 20 GW and will entail an investment of Rs 127 billion. While the interstate portion of the transmission infrastructure will entail an investment of Rs 80 billion, the intra-state transmission infrastructure will include an investment of Rs 47.45 billion. The project is being supported by the KfW Development Bank, which will advance Euro 1 billion in loan.
