The Jammu & Kashmir government, along with the National Institute of Wind Energy, has identified a site for developing the state’s first wind power project in Reasi district. In the first phase, the Jammu and Kashmir Energy Development Agency will develop a 6 MW wind power project on a pilot basis, with financial support from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRC). The total potential of the site has been estimated at 25 MW. Work at the site is expected to begin in 2017-18.
