HAL commissions 3.5 MW of solar project worth Rs 250 million at Bengaluru Airport

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has commissioned a 3.5 MW solar energy project at its airport facility in Bengaluru. The project was executed by Amplus Solar, entailed an investment of Rs 250 million and is spread across 23 acres of land. The single-axis tracker-based project comprises 12,985 solar modules and is capable of generating up to 24,000 units of electricity per day. HAL plans to develop 50 MW of solar power projects over the next two years. These include 35.8 MW ground-mounted and 9.2 MW of rooftop solar projects. It has already commissioned a 6.3 MW captive wind power plant at Harapanahalli, Karnataka.
