Gujarat government signs MoU for India’s first offshore wind farm

The Gujarat government has reportedly signed an MoU with Samiran Udaipur Windfarms for setting up the country’s first offshore wind farm. The 500 MW project, estimated to cost Rs 65 billion, will come up in the Gulf of Kutch region. This comes after the MNRE had set up a joint venture company in 2014 to set up demonstration projects for offshore wind power along the coast of Gujarat.
