ABB, along with its consortium partner BHEL, has secured orders worth Rs 57 billion from Powergrid to construct a transmission link from Rajgarh, Madhya Pradesh to Pugalur, Tamil Nadu. The project involves the construction of a 1,830 km long transmission link with an 800 kV ultra high voltage direct current capacity. The transmission link will facilitate grid-integration of renewable energy projects along the route and is expected to be completed by 2019.
