SKF inaugurates India Distribution Centre

SKF, a worldwide manufacturer and supplier of ball and roller bearings and rotating equipment performance products, has announced the launch of its new centralised distribution centre at Chakan, Pune. Spread over 64,000 square feet, the India Distribution Centre will significantly improve SKF’s distribution and logistics footprint in the country.

The centre is strategically located in the industrial belt of Maharashtra in the vicinity of key automobile manufacturers. It is also well connected with factories to ensure better availability of stocks and serve customers within the shortest possible time.

Shishir Joshipura, managing director and country head, SKF India and Christer Cedervall, director, logistics and demand chain, AB SKF, inaugurated the centre, which will allow the company to reduce delivery lead time and provide a wider range of products to its customers and distributors.
